Design & Multimedia Developer positions
Radford University, a thriving, comprehensive public

These positions play a key role in Radford University’s efforts to
provide pedagogical, instructional design, and development consultation related
to courses, modules and whole curricula for instructional projects. The
University is located in the city of Radford (population 15,859), 36 miles
southwest of Roanoke, Virginia, on Route 11 and I-81 in the New River Valley,
close to the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
The Instructional Technologist is
responsible for managing the implementation of multiple components (e.g.,
reusable learning objects) of online learning environment via prescribed IMPACT
management structures and systems. Currently, these systems include Adobe
Captivate Prime, Camtasia 9, Articulate Storyline, Captivate 2017, Adobe
Photoshop and other media development tools unique to IMPACT. The development
of the learning environment includes embedding and integrating learning science
principles into all aspects of the IMPACT learning environment. The management
of the overall learning environment includes collecting, tracking, analyzing
and generating custom reports on the efficacy of the learning environment for
multiple audiences and stakeholders including faculty, IMPACT administrators,
IMPACT learners and external strategic partners. In addition, the Instructional
Technologist trains and works with
faculty, IMPACT administrators, IMPACT learners and external strategic
partners on the use of the learning management system as well as the
interpretation of the reports provided by IMPACT.
Instructional Designer is responsible for working with faculty, staff and
subject matter experts in a variety of settings to conduct needs assessments,
identify instructional goals, analyze objectives and content needs, develop
appropriate assessments, and work with media development specialists and
technical personnel to ensure instructional materials and experiences are
functional and effective within computer-supported delivery modes.
Multimedia Developer is primarily responsible for designing, creating,
manipulating and tailoring graphics, images, sound, animation, video and text
to create integrated multimedia programs in an instructional learning
environment. This position will lead, develop and execute digital media
production assignments from original concept through final implementation with
limited oversight. The incumbent will partner with internal and external
clients including senior leaders and faculty regarding multimedia projects and
