Roanoke College seeks qualified
individual for the position of Public Relations Specialist. Excellent writing
skills plus demonstrated media relations and organizational skills are required.
The ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and assume responsibility
are essential along with grammar, composition, and editing skills.
This position will be responsible
for: writing, editing and distributing news releases; writing feature stories
for the College website, College magazine and other publications; maintaining
media records and files; work closely with student assistants; and assist with
occasional special events.
The successful candidate must
possess strong technical proficiency. Experience with website content management
systems and Adobe Photoshop are a plus.
Three to five years’ experience
in public relations and a Bachelor’s Degree, or advanced education and
demonstrated relevant experience, are required. Prior experience in higher education is strongly preferred. For more information about this position,
